As soon as the shift started we were pulled in to be read the riot act by our shift manager.. Basically the unofficial strike/walkout was illegal & the gloves were off.. After reading out a prepaired statement about how all this affects the royal mail & it's customers he said if we don't agree to work under his conditions we could go home & come back in when we were..
He refused to take any questions either so it was a basic " you walked out, now your back this is how it's going to be from now on, we'll show you lot not to go on strike".. Pissed off everyone & practically made up their minds to vote yes at the ballot because of his dictarorial style & petty mindedness ... I'll try to get a copy of his statement & post it up in full here..
The mail centre was rammed at first but they then re-directed most of it only doing inward mail, so no cfc's or packet stamping or meter everyone on the dsa all afternoon.. It's quite obvious the strike here hurt them big time, what i can't understand is how they say on the one hand they don't want us to go on strike, yet with the other they make up our minds for us by their actions towards us

...
I they think they can intimidate us into a "No" vote then they've got rude awakening coming..
