Adam Crozier has gone missing in this dispute. Tuesdays Sky interview was the first time he has appeared. He attempts to be teflon man as he claims thanks to him we are now earning 1 million a day but he has no blame for the fact that competition is draining this industry especially as he negotiated the down stream access price and that we have lost market share.
Night tonic is this the same Adam Crozier which mandleson told MPs that we need a joint venture because "we do not have the gene pool to run a modern postal industry" hardly a sign of confidence of Royal Mail management.
When we started the strikes there were no talks and Royal Mail were saying they didn't need any future national agreements now they have asked the union to attend 3 days of intensive talks not just on the future but on the revisions which they implemented. Hardly a sign strikes don't work.
When the strikes started there were no talks with the government , yesterday there were talks with Pat Mcfadden the post office minister and other civil servants about how the dispute could be resolved.
Look Royal Mail are under huge pressure to resolve the dispute , work is everywhere and the media are all over them.
The facts about crozier"s sky interview were that he only accepted if no CWU reps were on and only if his remuneration was not mentioned. In fact all Royal Mail managers have been told they cannot enter into a two way studio interview with the CWU. Who is running scared it is not the CWU.
Now Crozier has a lot to hide regards his pay, it is unexcusable asnd outrageous these are the facts about croziers pay: compared to the chief executive in Royal Mail in 1990 and Adams wages as the present chief exectuive it has gone up by 1222% (yes that is one thousand two hundred and twenty two %). Adams wages are 157 times that of an average postal worker and he earned last year 3.4 million pounds.
However perhaps the real scandal in this dispute is being supressed, and that is of the 20 odd senior managers in Scotland who have been suspended for alledged fraudulantly falsifying quality targets. These allegations and investigations are being rumoured to be widespread within the industry and further investigtions are rumoured to be underway in other areas. Is it really a coincidence that Adam Crozier many years ago got dismissed from the Telegraph for alledged falsification of figures. Does lightening really strike twice and could this be the reason why Adams has been so quiet of late ?
