Re: national strike ballot?
I know its hard for us under exec action and september feels a long way away but I expect that the resulting strikes will have even more impact as we would be moving away from the summer traffic and into autumn pressure - The resulting backlog would mount up quicker

They did squeal a bit more loudly in September/October of 2007 than they did in June and July so there is something in that.Cut Off King wrote:I know its hard for us under exec action and september feels a long way away but I expect that the resulting strikes will have even more impact as we would be moving away from the summer traffic and into autumn pressure - The resulting backlog would mount up quicker

Expect to see lots of legal action by RM to overturn all strike action, I only hope that the CWU leadership makes sure every ballot is watertight.

Re: national strike ballot?
I can't remember how long these trade union laws have been in, but the union HQ should know them inside out by now, in 2007 they served notice to royal mail that our mailcenter was going on strike, the only problem is they served notice that the one that had been closed for five years was taking action, and not the new one.brothermagrew wrote:disgruntledpostie1 wrote:Expect to see lots of legal action by RM to overturn all strike action, I only hope that the CWU leadership makes sure every ballot is watertight.![]()

Probably one of those southern firms who used to get the Good Ole Boys off whenever they lynched an uppity black man.
Sorry not appropriate on a serious issue I guess but I just PMSL at this
Seriously though I wish there would be a national ballot. We haven't even had a local one and it feels like we are letting others down. United we stand, divided we fall... bring on the national ballot somebody please and let us stand together!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 45#p173545" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; In these circumstances the Union has no alternative other than to move to a national industrial action ballot. The Postal Executive yesterday agreed that a timetable for the national industrial action ballot will be issued when we meet on the 4th August.
