All the union big guns are meeting on Aug 4th to discuss timetables for national strikes.

I know its hard for us under exec action and september feels a long way away but I expect that the resulting strikes will have even more impact as we would be moving away from the summer traffic and into autumn pressure - The resulting backlog would mount up quicker

They did squeal a bit more loudly in September/October of 2007 than they did in June and July so there is something in that.

I can't remember how long these trade union laws have been in, but the union HQ should know them inside out by now, in 2007 they served notice to royal mail that our mailcenter was going on strike, the only problem is they served notice that the one that had been closed for five years was taking action, and not the new one.

Your wish it appears is the CWUs command

In these circumstances the Union has no alternative other than to move to a national industrial action ballot. The Postal Executive yesterday agreed that a timetable for the national industrial action ballot will be issued when we meet on the 4th August.
