22.5 hour contract. Average actual work 30 hours.
Should I be paid 30 hours pay when on holiday?
Working Time Regulations - start digging from there and try ACAS - The " interesting " bit is when you're not working your normal hours regularly[/b] over that 13 week period that gets averaged out .Dorset Plodder wrote:Recently tried the average 13 weeks angle (should be entitled to 40 hours hols) with a letter to HR. Got the company line, "While you are on annual leave you are only paid for your contracted Hours. This is the same when you are on Sick Absence."![]()
I know the I Hour Contracts have been to IT and won. Anyone tried the 20, 24, 33 (any bloody number RM can think of) Contracts yet? Anyone got the appropriate employment legislation that might be appropriate?
Probably try CWU legal help then RM legal help, not holding my breath in either case, it might help if I've got some Legal Act to quote. All suggestions appreciated.
Cheers![]()

I think you will have to take appropriate advice as how to persue this outside the post office , keep a who , what , where , when record of all phone calls , use of the grievance procedure , conversations etc so as to back up your case . RM would not be able to twist things round and make you out to be a " troublemaker " eithertragictramp wrote:3 weeks on i still aint had my pay which i was told i would receive, the dom told me he would sort it within a few days and then the next day went on holiday, everytime i ask its as if im just causing trouble when in fact they owe me a large amount of money, is their anyway i can make this request for my holiday pay more official than word of mouth? im fed up of them treating me like this, the union rep dont seem interested, but gunna go in tomorrow request the money and ask what time frame if any i will receive it, i need to go on holiday just lke the dom! is their anyone i can send a letter to to make this process official?
cheers
got to exhaust those avenues - then ! - you can take a tribunal out against them - Form IT 1 from a dole office or job centre . RM can't play the old injured innocent routine then and make you out to be a " troublemaker " .tragictramp wrote:How do i go about making a grievance against my Main manager?, ive exhausted all avenues in receiving my holiday pay, 3 weeks on from his promise he will look into it, and after passing the buck around to deputy and wages guy it has now fallen back on his shoulders of responsibility, i was in his office today with the union rep, his deputy and him and he said, he does not know how to work out how to pay me and he has'nt got time to look into it, so basically he will leave on the back burner forever. On speaking to hr they advised me that he is the only person who can authorise any payment and he can ring them if he needs advice, they also told me that if he is unwilling to sort this that i should put in a grievance against him!, id rather he just paid me as im bound to get more grief if i put in a grievance against him, so he is the main dom, would i have to goto the regional or area manager?, is their a special grievance form or do i just write a letter? id ask the union guy but he just stands their saying nowt!
im fed up of em, they pxss me right off, all i want is what im entitled to and in 10 mins actual work rather than coffee drinking or smoking they can get me off their back!
cheers peeps, i feel like burning the office down lol
