Sound like a scam if the number he gave you is already delivered by the way what is the first two letters of the tracking number!.

BR sounds legit.

Accepted means it has entered the system, probably scanned by the accepting PO. Did it give a date.

Keep your fingers crossed

Right ive finally got to the bottom of it - just phoned Royal Mail. It seems it was sent from SS1 (southend on sea) postoffice today and I confirmed that it is going to the correct address in Nottingham that I asked for.

So at least I know the seller has put something in the post for me - whether its the apple iPhone that im supposed to get or a piece of bread in a jiffy bag I guess i'll have to wait and see!!

Thanks for all your help.

Sorry but that is wrong - only Saturday Gaurenteed for which there is extra payment ensures delivery on a Saturday. However normally most offices would deliver it on the Saturday.

It all depends on the office, some offices don't have packets going out for days if not weeks at a time but you may be lucky.

Thanks for the replies folks, its a small box about the size of small bag of sugar should be in a jiffy bag, so I am guessing it could go on the posties rounds? I hope it does go with the walking postie as it is going to my girlfriends address - she and her flatmate will not be home as they will be at work but they know the postman quite well and he delivers the parcels to their work, so hoping it turns up there!

Thanks for the replies though and I realise its not top gear and that lots of things can delay the parcel/package, although royal mail did beat top gear on the recent episode, very impressive!!
