Luton...strike affected?

Post by alex350r »

Hi all,

I'm awaiting a parcel that may or may not have been sent on friday (I suspect the guy might be a scammer but not sure yet) from luton, he says he sent it special delivery but not sure if it was saturday guaranteed. It hasn't arrived yet and im just wondering if the luton area was affected by the strikes last week and could it be delayed in someway?

If not then I guess he just plain hasn't sent it.

Thanks,

Alex

A lot of people say it is sent special delivey but when they see the cost just use first class with recorded delivery on it ask for a tracking number from the poster but don't post the number on here just tell us the first two letters of that number!.

Thanks for the replies - its either one of two things then

1.He has sent it standard 1st class delivery hence why he wont provide me with a tracking no because he doesnt have one.

2.He is a scammer and has ripped me off

Let's hope its not number 2!

Depends how big it is as up to a certain size can be sent second class as that is the cheapest but look to four or five days if it is not including Sunday!.

If you get the tracking code for a recorded then it'll only tell you when/if it's been delivered, with SD it gets tracked throughout the system. With the state RM is at the moment your package could be sitting in an office because the manager has nobody to deliver it (managers regularly delay packages for operational reasons, I know that in my office one duties packets haven't gone out in over a week).

Ok thanks for the replies folks really grateful for the responses. Fingers crossed its just delayed, I'd rather it be delayed than not ever sent! I'll try and get the tracking details at least it will prove its been sent. So im guessing the whole system has been hit badly then? was luton one of the known affected areas? just for your information it was coming from luton and going to newcastle under lyme, midlands.

Cheers,

Alex

If it has not turned up in 14 working days it is officially late or missing it may still turn up but it is up too the poster too chase this up if you have not received it by then get on too the poster and he must refund you as the Good's were not supplied as requested!. if you look through some of the posts below don't know if customers can you will see most turn up eventually even if some think they have been scammed just don't go sending/reciveing things to Nigeria or other places which are dubious!.

Ok thanks well ill leave it a bit and see what happens, the strangest thing is that he won't give me a tracking number. I can only think he is scamming or simply sent standard post or threw the reciept away.

Strange thing is though that he is staying in touch, if I was a scammer I wouldve taken the money and run...odd.

Thanks for the help

ooh the saga continues he has now given me a tracking no which apparently has been accepted in 'Southend on Sea', funny considering I gave him two addresses - one in Newcastle Under Lyme and one in Nottingham! The first two letters of the tracking no are BR.
