If you smoke you're arteries could be clogging.
Happened to my old man, postie for 30 years, started getting slower and slower until he could barely walk 100 yards before the wall of pain hit him.
Retired on medical grounds earlier this year, due to reccurence of the injury after nearly a year off after surgery.

Sounds like you could be starting with a bit of Rheumatoid Arthritis or you could just have strained the ankle ligaments thanks to poor footwear.
If you get any pain with your socks when you put them on you might have the old favourite of Gout.
I`m betting on poor footwear especially if you have Royal Mail equipment.

I'm sure I'm not the only person here suffering with this problem http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/sportsm ... a/itbs.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Iilotibial Band Syndrome
I had surgery for this 9 years ago and did'nt think it would return, ill fitting footware also seems to be a cause aswell.

I just think it is overwork and heavy bags as the weight has increased dramatically over the last few years!.

and I remember a few years back, H/S coming down hard on folks who tried to push these Trolleys down the steps. if you are not allowed to do this in the yard, then it can't be done outside!

Only in flat areas and on walks that have been risk assessed and security tested as well.
I have hills on my walk one of them is 1 in 3 - 30% luckily I go down it, but no way would a trolley be of any use on my delivery. Bleeding Pennines always causing trouble.
