help with grievance

ive put a grievance in against my shift manager ,,, and i have an interview with a graduate manager next week ,,,my question is can a manager of a lower grade than the shift manager hear my grievance ?? my rep says no the graduate says yes ??????

thanks will try ring HR on monday ,,i cant see how a graduate manager can do it when he seeks advice from the manager involved in my grievance , surely he cant overturn a desision his manager makes??

been through the same thing with a disagreement and we made that precise point, how can they find against a decision that a higher level manager has made and has the career prospects of the less senior manager in his hands?
they said that that was not an issue and if they thought it was a valid case they would up hold what they thought was right

needless to say the less senior managers never found against the more senior manager and as that was the area manager what chance you got?

they will do it graffi..they did it to me...just get ready to appeal his inevitable rejection of your claim and cite his incompetence and inexperience...

...then you move to stage 2....and don't forget...they cannot discipline you for raising a grievance, UNLIKE the bullying and harassment procedure...

Anyone who would have an unbias view on things would be ok. I feel that your rep has no knowledge of this manager which makes him suspicious however you seem to have a better case this way

Now you have the opportunity to pursue it on the grounds of confidentiality and secrecy, or lack of should i say.

If its against your shift manager and not your line manager it should be straight to stage 2 anyhow

everything gets turned into a soap opera , If you've not been in The Services , Public School or Prison you'd think you'd walked onto another planet . Too much politics RM places are institutions , there is a lot of people who should never be let out of them .

norbert I completely agree for i was never political at work but trouble always seams to find me and the politics of royalmail management would make the NAZI party look like a conservative party broadcast!.

Have you spoken to HR yet? What have they said?? Did you send it away to Rugby?
