phone book

Post by johnsouthwales »

some car pulled up about ten mins ago, had a glimpse to see who it was, and someone opened the boot and pulled out a reddish bag.. i thought hello? surely royal mail arent working at this time pmsl...thought that's not a postman and arried on with my pc stuff. he was leaning against the car admiring the view i guess, looked at the car and saw a sign on the door which turns out to be a taxi.. then thought it was something like a leaflet distribution or junk mail or bettaware or summat lol.

then this kid appears, and heard some large object being shuvved through the letterbox.. then i watched the kid go back to the car, jumps into the open boot and the taxi drove off with the kid dangling off. thought to myself what the fux they posted...

got up to have a look like and picked it up... bt telephone directory....

don't tnt do the bt stuff?? seems like they are scamming bt, charging bt full rate for deliver and subcontract it out to taxi firms to deliver.... wonder what next

think i'll asked them for an electronic version of the phone book to cut carbon footprint lol :cuppa either that or my footprint on their arce
and here comes avi cohen! oh i say! at the same end, he's got one back!!

This site reckons it can stop all junk mail including Yellow Pages and Thompson Directories so I signed up.

http://www.stopjunkmail.org.uk/guide/junk_buster.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It also stops D2D but as it will affect posties pay I did not sign up that part of it.

In all honesty and as annoying junk mail is, it's giving our people a job so I tend just to bin the stuff but send back the prepaid envelopes stuffed with paper so we get something back.

oh need my yello pages to...lol.. yeah, know all about the junk mail keeping people in work. it was just the way it looked. i know its a bit of cash for kids and that, but if it was a case of tnt getting cash from bt, subcontracting it out, and that subcontractor subcontracting it out again lol.

then again, tnt subcontract out my barclays bill every month to royal mail by just collecting it from fom the barclays, sort it and give it to m.o to post it for them onda cheap lol

what i dont like is packages being past from one firm to another... speaking from experience, i made an online purchase from a firm in austria. when i received it here, and opened it at a later date cos i dint need it straight away, i found that the contents were all is not well. i know something has happened to th container cos it has evidence of taking a tumble toss, and received a blow that caused one of the packets to burst open internally, even though the box wasn't damaged greatly... anyway, after putting on my deerstalker, worked out a route it would have travelled, and no sense was made as where or how it could have been made. the distortion visible on the box after opening the box, gives the impression a forklift rammed it, and it had always racked my brain, who the hell would be using a forklift. plus the other marks which suggest it had been dropped from a height of at least two metres.

after getting in touch with the trader, it was a case its not my fault, get in touch with parcelforce.. get in touch with parcelforce, they say its the senders problem.. get in touch with austriapost ag, they say its royal mails problem.. then it was austrias problem..then get back to them, they say its parcelforces problem...and so on..

originally back in january, parcelforce told me told me it was in coventry in december.. i was thinking, wtf is it doing up there?

last month, after making more enquiries, it was said that parcelforce had made an error in assuming that uk has an agreement with austriapost ag, and were thinking as there is an agreement with deutschepost ag, austria is the same. then austria explained that due to germanys deregulation, technical problems occur, which sounds like that when it arrives in germany, it gets taken over by whover, and that parcel changes hands and end up with any tom dick or harry acting as a courier..

last week, another insight cme into view. parcelforce said that the only reason it could possibly have ended up in coventry is because it was flown there, as it made sense that birmingham international i nearby. and if they had available space on the plane, they bunged it on there (even though the postage was surface mail).. now, this is where the forklift theory comes in.. dhl use forklifts. cos whatever caused that packet inside to burst, took a lot of pressure. doing a little experiment on a similar packet took a lot of force for me to burst open, like pressing down with my hand gently, then applying more, and even after quite a lot pressure didnt burst it. so a sharp force eventually burst it.

everyone was blaming each other, and had enough, then the germans would blame the subcontractor, and the subcontractor end up blaming austria.. and after all, its my stuff, my money used to pay for it, and got nowhere, except a headache, a nervous breakdown.

what i dont get is, that it has the original austrian post label, it has the parcel force sticker in swansea.. but no other sticker inbetween, to indicate who has had it, which i always thought had to be stickered. because it was always thought it was travelling by road or rail. and one reason why it didnt have another sticker was it didnt need one as it probably flew from either salzburg or munich (where it didnt need another sticker cos of austria and germany's agreement). but the only other one i could have expected one was coventry.

or a sticker from whoever saying sorry i dropped your parcel. tut.

All very interesting, but your contract is with the seller. They have a responsibility to get it to you safely. They should be doing all this investigating..after they have replaced the item or refunded you.

Our phone books are too big to fit into any letterbox so they're all just thrown at peoples doors.

Except when we get them to deliver, I treat them as packets and P739 them. :Very Happy

I've noticed a lot of Next catalogues have been doorstepped this week, I know we don't deliver them but I bet we get the blame for leaving them just thrown on the doorstep or near the house, I think people actually have to pay for those catalogues.

yeah coming to think of it.. they always were left on the door step or nearby in the past. same with the yellow pages

the next catalogue, people assume its post office delivered, and makes it look like if someone cant be bothered..

yellow pages delivery next. usually about a month or two after the directory. better not put it through the letterbox, its twice the thickness
