What do you mean 'banked time'! There is NO banking of hours!!

Instead of bookin OT, you can bank the time and take it when it suits!!

If you work o/t you bank the hours and have an extra day off, or that's what a few seem to do here. But get this ....if for example you do four hours o/t you bank four hours only. There is no o/t rate, it is paid flat rate ! Can't believe people want to do this, they're losing out all ways.
One of them is our union rep !
Stuff that ...... if i go over my time i want the overtime paid, and at it's proper rate !

what if your on long term sick and bank holidays accur during your illness
ie xmas day, boxing day ,and new year
can you claim these back to

I wouldn't think so, as RM pay you automatically for these days. If you were actually due to work on a public holiday, then i think it may be different, but we don't as a rule.

i will have to disagree, you cannot be on holiday, public or personal and sick at the same time you are either at work, on holiday public or personal or on the sick, and only 1 at any time not 2 or 3 of them at once.
this is akin to what happened recently with leave on a bank holiday weeks, the point is this bank holiday are not part of your statutory entitlement i.e. 23.5 days, but are surplus so if you're off sick you're off sick. you do not stop being sick because itr's a bank holiday

If you are still experiancing this i would seriously urge you to get in contact with your branch, we had this practice stopped about 4 years ago if not longer.
get the info from your branch, then approach your DOM, but don't tell them you have the relevant info and demand the practice stops. if and when they don't take out a grievance against Royal Mail for not cascading the relevant information to those concerned and for your DOM for not applying it. Then you just stand back and watch the managers play pass the buck, after a couple of weeks get the area reps advise on another grievance against RM and the DOm for being deliberatly dishonest.
See what happens, it's got to be worth a punt.
