I personally like the extra time in bed and would look forward to more.

This is a scam isn't it? We come in an hour later to the same volume of work and are expected to sort and walk faster to finish at the usual time? How does that benifit us? If u are sitting round for an hour after tying up and before going out, it's good but if u are already working all your hours this will just scam u into doing the same job in less time for no extra pay!

Well as volumes of mail are falling and IPS is less and walk sorted flats become the norm - the hour will be saved without the work.

Maybe, but Royal Mail will constantly be trying to reduce our hourly rate, so a reduction in hours will over the next few years result in a reduction in pay.dvbuk55 wrote:opgpat wrote:This is a scam isn't it? Re: shorter week instead of pay rise
An unpaid meal relief will only result in even more people NOT taking a break! And less insistence from management that it is taken.
How would this system work for part time staff on 24, 30 or 32 hour contracts? Would they simply lose the time paid for the meal relief (30 hour contracts get 30 mins a day or 2.5 hours a week, not exactly a reduction in their working week then, if they are working the same hours but with no paid meal relief).
I've a better suggestion, 35 hour week for all, with paid meal relief and pay rise above inflation, remember last year...inflation over 5%, how much worse off are we actually now compared to 2 or 3 years ago!
RM made over 280 million in profit for 9 months, they can damn well afford a pay rise and not just for Mr Crozier!

Just like the Way Forward, SDD, the 2007 Pay and Modernisation Agreement. Is there still anyone who will admit to voting for any of these?carpbarbel wrote:dont trust rm they never give anything away just one of the cons they come out with all the time 80 per cent of the office thinks its good vote it in then regret it when its to late

Well I voted against Pay and Mod and in fact made that public on here.pinstripe wrote:Just like the Way Forward, SDD, the 2007 Pay and Modernisation Agreement. As for the other 2 I did not vote - but before you hang me I was not working in RM when they were voted in, though with SDD I would have voted against it. Not sure about the "Way Forward Agreement" as I don't have the personal knowledge of what it was like before .
