May be a silly question, but does OT pay the same as normal time, or is there an OT rate?

Time not worth doing!
The OT rate hasn't risen in line with pay for a long time, so that now it's almost the same as normal pay..

And now, as I am on a 1-hour contract, but have done 48+ hours this week, will I get that little bit extra for 47 hours?

no you get OT rates on any hours above completing your 40 hours

That was another belting deal - the overtime - I remember when we worked our hours before lunch time Friday and hours after that were time and a half and Saturday was double time and then there was the Saturday premium of course.
