Missing parcel

Post by Darlene »

Hi Folks

I had a parcel posted to me from a fancy dress shop last Friday (12th) from the Midlands, (to Belmont in Durham) and here we are the 17th and it still hasn't arrived. It contains a fancy dress outfit (Minnie Mouse  ) that I NEED for Saturday.
Its not the company's fault as they posted it out in good time but could someone please tell me: where do missing parcels go? where is it likely to be? and more importantly do I have any chance of getting it before Saturday?

My friend who works for RM told me to post on here, said someone might be able to help.

Is that like the second oldest lie in the world - The cheques in the post :hmmmm

But seriously, check with the sending company if they sent it by a traceable method (recorded or special) and come to think about it was it actually sent by RM.

All parcels that cannot be delivered will be returned to the sender and if that's not possible it gets sent to RLC in Belfast who'll open it up to see if there is any information they can use to deliver it.

Thank folks, Yes I had already checked with them. They posted it by Royal Mail, First Class on Friday 12th.

I had got an email as well confirming it had been despatched on the day it was despatched.

They suggest just waiting but thats no good for much longer as the party its for is Saturday lol so Friday is the latest I can wait before making a 24 mile round trip by bus just to get another one (or going to the party as Lady Godiva :whistle )

Oh cross everything it turns up tomorrow lol

Hi all,

Ive asked Darlene to come on here in the hopes that someone from a MC or DO in Durham may know of any hold ups, currently our office is taking London Diverts and the best trick in the world is to put work back onto vans and send them around the country then it can be claimed it hasnt "failed" if anyone knows of any back logs with packets please could you find out if this is a RM delivery issue. I also find it very odd as packets dont often get "lost" unless the address has fallen off! or its been badly packaged. I hope someone from the Durham area can come on and let us know if they are awear of any issues.

Thanks

xxx

The sender needs a certificate of posting to prove it was sent - an e-mail is only them telling you they sent it, not proof at all.
Let's hope it's not gone to Belmont, Shetland or Belmont, New Zealand.

Hmmm, I wonder if the parcel has not had the proper postage put on it and it has been surcharged?

I say this because a customer on my round had an i-pod posted to him and after 3 days it still hadn't turned up.

On the 4th day I had one of those "surcharge cards" to deliver to him saying the packet was underpaid to the value of £2something.

And here was me thinking the packet had been stolen or damaged.
