No office in my region is clearing, the workload is ridiculous,.by the time you do the third of the other Two walks it's going on 12pm.so you then have 2.5 hours most days to finish 1 walk and all the tracked and 1 st class on the other it's just not realistic. And this is the quite time god help us in a month or so when it starts getting silly, frames will be bulging at the siems.
Had the exact same scenario today. Cut off the extra thirds yesterday so they both had to be done by the time we got on to the actual delivery it’s was past 12pm ended up taking back all the tracked on the second delivery.
Will probably go in tomorrow morning and be told by the manager we are letting the side down and our performance isn’t good enough and our rep will probably nod in agreement.
Honestly don't know why anyone is in the CWU for the last 10 years, they are a company union, they don't work for the members. They constantly gaslight their members, I would not trust a word that comes out of their mouth. They do nothing but lie to their members while boot licking Royal Mail at every opportunity. Now fatigue is an issue which needs to reviewed but even the 2 in 5 results in 21 days less at work including 11 less Saturdays than the old 1 day in 6 off which 68% of Delivery employees were working under the old USO.
This is one sticking point which needs to be addressed asap and unfortunately a lot of members are struggling right now.
I am surprised that we can't have a break half way through our delivery. To continue walking, driving, and lifting heavy parcels for 5 plus hours every day is going to take it's toll. These extra days off are much needed, but no one really asked for these extra recovery days.
This probably was discussed during the trials, about fatigue.

Whilst DM26 is bad RM's ODM would have been far worse, they'd probably also have us all working 9 to 5 if not.later.
The whole fatigue thing gets continuously mentioned but never actually addressed.
The so called extra days off come at a cost. The cost is longer days every day you're actually in work. And not only longer days but heavier days because every single day is double or triple mail. Plus a f**k tonne of D2Ds because they are now going over 2/3 days and there's been loads more than before this s**t started. I can tell you now that the job is now harder than before and you promised us less and a fairer workload. The walks are now even more unbalanced too.
I would much rather the original delivery spans and less days off. And stop quoting the extra Saturdays like they somehow give you extra rest over a weekday. The facts are, on rest days you're that f****d you don't want to leave the house.
