Bank holiday payment still a thing?

Post by Terry Skittle »

The August Bank holiday falls on my day off.

It’s always a pain chasing our managers to get them to add it to our entitlement (although, this should be automatic and no need to chase for it in the first place).

I once took it a a payment and was thinking of doing it again.

Approached my Rep to see if this was still a thing and he was pretty sure you can longer request it as a payment.

Does anyone know if I can for definite?

Cheers in advance :thumbup

Go upstairs to your book-room Terry and ask for the Bank Holiday sheet. Your name should be listed, along with everyone else who has a day off, so you simply sign and tick box A (money) or B (day off in lieu).

Thanks guys, appreciate the info.

Think what we’ve done in the past if we require the payment is we’ve had to put it in writing.

My concerns are our managers who are obsessed with their budget. The fact that the union Rep was very unsure and then appeared a little shifty about it leaves me suspicious (He does have a cosy relationship with the gaffer though).

Got a feeling I’m gonna get knocked back when I ask for it.

Thanks for now 👍🏼
