I agree with others when saying if ODM wouldn't work in an office, then DM26 has no chance.
Theres actually more walking involved in DM26 over a greater sized area than you had with ODM.

Re: Hell offices now.
The turnover rate in D.O's now must be immense - would be interested to see those numbers.

Re: Hell offices now.
It's very difficult even anecdotally to monitor turnover. I can't keep tabs on everyone coming and going in the unit (not for lack of trying). An example from just a few days ago:
I've looked at the ONS numbers I can find (2017/18 and 2022/23) and 'Information and Communication' turnover rates seem to be consistent at around 30%. That's close to RM's claim about the logitistics sector (26.9%). If we assume that's historically consistent then in 2010/11 "half the UK average" would be ~15%. RM boasts in 2024 to have reduced that to just 11% turnover. That seems to be completely counterintuitive to what everyone sees, except that we know average age in operations has been going up for a long time now.Colleague: Elliot left.
Me: Who's Elliot?
Colleague: A new start.
Me: I have no idea who that is.
I can only speculate unless someone else can speak more authoritatively on the subject. In spite of the substatntial churn on the low end of seniority, those in the upper bracket are likely clinging on for retirement or angling for a payoff that never comes so much that it more than offsets 25% of newbies leaving in 90 days.
The machine stops.

Re: Hell offices now.
Coming to the end of the first week of The Great Leap Forward.
Two newbies, one who doesn`t drive, the other who worked at another office, but only as a van delivery driver, is already looking at leaving because she can`t cope with the walking.
A young woman who is highly regarded for her enthusiasm, speed and commitment, was brought to tears by the impossibility of what she was expected to deliver on the "third" of the "other" walk in the pod. The DOM went out to help her. When we arrived back there was a notice imploring those who were back early to go out again to help their colleagues. Easy Monday/Tuesday, car crash on parcels/packets ever since.
Tomorrow, after work, the DOM has invited everyone down The `Spoons for a drink. I don`t mind drinking on The Krestky dollar, but I`m secretly hoping that no-one else shows up, as it`s just a cynical ploy to boost morale. Especially as orders have come from on high to do it every month. Most people won`t attend on principal, but the main reason is the later finish time on Saturdays now, and I shall tell her so. It doesn`t effect me, but my younger colleagues with families won`t be able to take them out for the day.

Re: Hell offices now.
Our office moral is so bad I think alcohol would just add fuel to the fire and we haven't started DM26 yet!
Also I thought drinking whilst in uniform was frowned upon and not something RM would actively encourage

Re: Hell offices now.
I'm interested to know what HTC walking rounds will involve. You can only take what you can fit inside an HTC and that can typically easily be done within our current shorter working hours, but when DM26 comes in the working day will be 30 to 60 minutes longer.

But in my office they did take someone on without a licence

HTC have it so easy it’s complete opposite to van shares that get 200+ tracked when they only get 50 on a really heavy day

There is a replenishment duty to fill the trolley back up again.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Not in my office, I was out delivering for six and a half hours yesterday with my HTC, maybe we don't do as many packets as vans but I was on my feet the whole time, and I was the last one back.
