Hello,
Not sure if anyone can help here but thought I'd try just in case. I ordered something worth about 200 pounds, however I mistyped a 6 instead of a 5 on the post code.
According to the tracking number it's gone back up to Leeds MC - YT324261998GB
This is the correct address:
I have been told by RM customer service and the supplier of the item there's nothing they can do because it was a mistake I made.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed

Re: Leeds MC Parcel - lost a valuable item
It should go back to the sender so your best bet is to take it on the chin and offer to pay for the extra postage they incurred. Problem with Leeds MC is it covers so many post codes towns but even then they don't have all the districts in the same officer. For instance Huddersfield HD1-5 is in the same office but HD6 Brighouse is in its own office, as do HD7, HD8 and HD9.
There is an outside chance that someone may recognise the correct town and forward it to the correct officer, bus as Royal Mail is more automated now that's unlikely.

Thanks for the info. I would be happy to pay again if that was an option. Okay, I will wait and see if it gets returned to sender.

A lot will depend on what has been encoded in the square barcode as that's what a packet sorting machine will read. If the wrong postcode is encoded in that barcode then the machine will keep sending it to the wrong delivery office. The staff at the wrong delivery office need to cross out the square barcode, until they do it's very likely to keep bouncing between the MC and the DO.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑20 Jul 2026, 15:13It should go back to the sender so your best bet is to take it on the chin and offer to pay for the extra postage they incurred. Ok thanks for the message. I have been offered a free replacement, so that's a good outcome. If I turns up I will return to the company.
