So can anyone tell me, what if DM26 is an absolute flop? What happens then?
Royal Mail bring in ODM by executive action with commit to deliver as an added extra.

You can if it is in their contract.
After all Terry Pullinger kept telling everyone we are the 4th emergency service.
I don't think the other 3 can just finish on their time every day.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The difference is the other emergency services are dealing with people not paper and parcels they can't make anyone work overtime.

It'll be New Delivery Method 29 (NDM29), and then in another 3 years, rinse & repeat

Every postman/ woman knows this is going to be all over the place and a mass clusterf,,. The company has always refused to listen to the workers , esp regarding this way of working . We know, we do the job day in day out .

What do you mean we are dealing with paper and parcels?
We deliver vital NHS communications. We deliver vital financial documents.
We are the glue that binds communities.

And remember we have a legal obligation to deliver that mail.

If DM26 doesn't work there's no way even RM would be mad enough to bring in something even worse, as far as commit to deliver, RM/CWU can hardly ask the Government/OFCOM to stop Amazon etc using the gig economy workers whilst going down a similar route.

DM26 was never intended to "work".

It's about plausible deniability, so when OFCOM come knocking they can say we implemented the USO changes, but service is bad because recruitment is still bad.

The company will continue to offer a scaled back service in an attempt to save money. Then they'll push for a 3 day USO.

All part of Kretinsky's roadmap to oblivion, what he has planned once the 3 years are up of legal guarantees for staff who knows.

Alternatively RM's Senior Managers along with CWU's support have convinced DK that DM26 will actually work?

Any ideas what he means by "we must stop the practice......" ?

As far as the pay rise, I'm not sure just giving staff around the present inflation rate is anything to highlight!!
