Re: USO Change Implementation
I just wondered if all your offices are fully staffed. Ours is about 40 down plus long-term sickness. I can't imagine getting to the required fully staffed. people just don't stay once the reality sinks in. I suspect they will employ a load near the time of desired implementation just to put bums on seats to force it in .

We’ve been pretty much told hard luck because if your office is at the end of the line there’s no point in you coming in earlier. The Goats Toe wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026, 17:55So with all these changes coming in, is there any provision for those folk who are on family friendly and those that met all the required criteria last year to be exempt from the later start times?
Any time people at our place ask the yellow hi viz wearers about this, all they get is 'we don't know as its out of our hands'.
any advice?

Parcels will still take priority and mail will still fail. I don’t understand why people are bothered with how much mail they have. One day, two days, ten days..I really couldn’t care. DM26 collapses when 1 element of it fails, be it mail, staffing numbers or parcels. Wave goodbye to any better attendance patterns that were dangled to get the vote through.

Re: USO Change Implementation
Surely your office never reduced duty sizes back down after they massively increased them 3 to 4 years ago. 175 Tracked is insane. I've never had anymore than 86 Tracked on any duty I've ever done.postmanplod2026 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026, 17:46its no going work i couldnt get any mail done today had 175 tracks so how on earth can u get 4 in 3 or 50/50 canna even get a loop out ur having a laugh, taking far to many parcel contracts on
Can you expand on why you are getting 175 Tracked and if this is normal? How many calls do you have on your duty? What type of duty is it?
If your duties never got reduced in size then it's my understanding they will be reduced when the USO changes happen.

Re: USO Change Implementation
Many people don't want mail building up at their frame when other people are clearing. It makes them feel like a loser. Of course, the reality is that your duty is very heavy and probably fails a lot more than others which is the real reason for the build up.
Who eventually clears the 10+ days of mail if it's not you? Because if it's not you, you can bet they'll be waiting for your week off, put parcel drivers on for the tracked and let those covering you to get all the mail out. When you get back from annual leave, they'll be delighted to pin the blame on you by making an example of you.

Re: USO Change Implementation
Mail fails and then DM26 fails, why can't you see that? I thought you posted the other day about being happy about better attendance patterns (I may be wrong) - they only happen if everything gets delivered.Pfrizzy10 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026, 21:15Parcels will still take priority and mail will still fail. Don't count on it. I was reliably informed a literal handful of people in our operational area were granted time-limited exemptions when the Network Review f****d us in 2024.The Goats Toe wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026, 17:55So with all these changes coming in, is there any provision for those folk who are on family friendly and those that met all the required criteria last year to be exempt from the later start times?
Much like with the Poll Tax, Scotland had the great pleasure of a sneak peek at the fun that awaits when you don't hit the street till 1130. Hold onto your butts!

They can’t force you to stay out and clear mail, so the pressure is put on by yourself. Do what you can do.postmanplod2026 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 09:13u get pressure to clear the mail as well, a 2 yorks of oversize and overheads so yeah its pretty grim, one duty, would help if there was no oversize yorks

You've never had more than 86 on any duty you've ever done even at Xmas ? 86 would be average in summer on most of the ones I've done and busier times are regular 120+(160+ xmas) herenorris9 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026, 21:22Surely your office never reduced duty sizes back down after they massively increased them 3 to 4 years ago. 175 Tracked is insane. Yep, 86 Tracked is highest I've ever had on any duty I've done. Not including standards, not including Specials, not including any lapsing.Racingpostie wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 17:41You've never had more than 86 on any duty you've ever done even at Xmas ? 86 would be average in summer on most of the ones I've done and busier times are regular 120+(160+ xmas) herenorris9 wrote: ↑03 Jun 2026, 21:22Surely your office never reduced duty sizes back down after they massively increased them 3 to 4 years ago. 175 Tracked is insane. In our office the average round is probably 500 calls and I'd say the average amount of Tracked parcels per day per round is 55.
At Xmas we get agency drivers to clear a good chunk of our parcels, otherwise that 86 figure would be higher.

Re: USO Change Implementation
86 is wild. That’s me on an average summer day. Highest I’ve had is 276 tracked and that’s an all-rural duty.norris9 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 18:07Yep, 86 Tracked is highest I've ever had on any duty I've done. Re: USO Change Implementation
Pretty easy to see why there aren't going to be any revisions when bringing in DM26 - they might have to actually resource all offices properly.
If your office is (unsurprisingly) already unable to cope with mail plus hundreds of tracked per duty per day, your reward seems to be, here, have 1/3 more! Enjoy!
