Personally I can't see any government agreeing to ending the USO.
It would be electoral suicide.
You would have MP after MP standing up in the House droning on about how important a letter service is to their elderly constituents because if they didn't they could kiss re-election goodbye.
You see it alot now with MP's scoring easy points with constituents by writing to RM demanding a explanation. It's a shame the total pressure doesn't amount to much, every MP gets the generic response.

And the non drivers ????
Non drivers get paired with the driver everyday and walk every shift. Just like now except with 2 or 3 days mail every day.
I thought everyone was to only do 2-3 core duties every week
Due to h&s and fatigue issues

That's the unions idea, not royal mail.

It’s part of RMs ODM method not the CWU heavy and light counter method
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Royal Mail 3 into 4 duties =25% Cuts. CWU 7 into 8 duties=12.5% Cuts. That’s a wide margin in difference 🤡😂.

This nugget of information doesn't get mentioned by CWU in their bulletins. It seems job losses are inevitable whatever method comes in and whether or not it can be achieved by natural wastage or VR they're still being a bit shy about mentioning it.

I think most likely the surplus will be declared supernumerary. There's bound to be some DOs where even after the 3 into 4 will be short on staff, the supernumerary staff will get transferred to them DOs.
