You see it alot now with MP's scoring easy points with constituents by writing to RM demanding a explanation. It's a shame the total pressure doesn't amount to much, every MP gets the generic response.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑05 Feb 2026, 16:09Personally I can't see any government agreeing to ending the USO.
It would be electoral suicide.
You would have MP after MP standing up in the House droning on about how important a letter service is to their elderly constituents because if they didn't they could kiss re-election goodbye.

Due to h&s and fatigue issues

Royal Mail 3 into 4 duties =25% Cuts. CWU 7 into 8 duties=12.5% Cuts. That’s a wide margin in difference

This nugget of information doesn't get mentioned by CWU in their bulletins. It seems job losses are inevitable whatever method comes in and whether or not it can be achieved by natural wastage or VR they're still being a bit shy about mentioning it.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 14:59Well its half the number of job losses so yeah it isAlfietherat wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 13:22Royal Mail 3 into 4 duties =25% Cuts. I think most likely the surplus will be declared supernumerary. There's bound to be some DOs where even after the 3 into 4 will be short on staff, the supernumerary staff will get transferred to them DOs.yellowbelly wrote: ↑12 Feb 2026, 19:07This nugget of information doesn't get mentioned by CWU in their bulletins.
