Anyone had a PDA coaching comment?
Our line manager will get you on anything and I mean anything.
The other day I left a letter tracked on top of the fitting, very rare for me. Anyway my manager approached me the next day and told me which is fair enough.
A couple of days after, my driver Trimble score was 95.7% bearing in mind the day before I didn't drive any different and even though it beeped around 15 times on acceleration and breaking I got a perfect 100% score!!.
Today looked on my PDA and I have had two coaching comments and when I read my managers comments it took me back 40 years to when I was at middle school and was being told off from the teacher.
Has anyone got a manager this petty.?

I can’t quite imagine why people get uptight about their driver score/trimble.
RM can barely recruit the most basic of desperate folk.
The chances of being seriously disciplined for going round a roundabout too fast etc must be less than the chances of seeing a member of senior management in a delivery office on a day that isn’t a Tuesday.

Too right, if it was me leaving I'd be seeing how low I could get my score

What I can't understand is that there's no way to respond, at least previously if the manager called you in to discuss an issue you had chance to respond before signing anything.
As far as some posters thinking it's all a big joke posties in my DO are regularly being dismissed, or at least advised it might be in their interests to leave and no doubt they've had coaching notes previously.

Yes, exactly. That would be the grown-up way to deal with people. But managers are self-selectedly lacking in people skills, so passive aggressive notes are the way forward.
Oh, and what do you want to bet they have some kind of engagement bonus if they pump these comments out to all and sundry about any barely jusitifiable minutiae?
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

Re: Anyone had a PDA coaching comment?
imho the only managers that tend to micro-manage are the ones who feel like they need to prove their worth, which is why they revert to this sort of behaviour.
Confident, self-assured managers rarely need to resort to bring staff in offices for minor mistakes because they know it is time consuming and often unnecessary unless there has been a clear pattern involved i.e. you missed delivering scanned tracked items every day for a WEEK. Regarding the Trimble thing, if there has been no accidents or speeding involved, is this really a big issue??
When managers start nit-picking it has the opposite effect on the performance metrics especially if it's being applied when there are already unrealistic workloads and poor systems already in place.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Anyone had a PDA coaching comment?
Coaching note on the PDA should reflect an actual conversation. If the conversation hasn’t happened then the coaching note is worthless

I never even look at any of that shite on my PDA. It's for scanning parcels and boxes and the van check, that's it.

Re: Anyone had a PDA coaching comment?
It's clearly not though, if a manager is putting coaching notes on your PDA records then you can't simply ignore them without running the risk of him/her taking further action.

Re: Anyone had a PDA coaching comment?
I do but it's too late to do anything wants it's recorded on your PDA as no manager is going to delete the note.

Re: Anyone had a PDA coaching comment?
We've debated this before: is it a reasonable request to be instructed to read MyPerformance? If there's anything critically important to be read there then surely a manager, when standing in front of you asking you to read it, could simply tell you there and then.
Any Questions?
