They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
The amount of people commenting on being frustrated with updates about an update.
Nothing meaningful to report back.
If the company broke the agreed timeline for new entrants flight path to equalisation then that is on the company.
You can only negotiate in good faith.
If they union were helping to push through the USO changes then I would agree that they have not served their members well.
That isn't happening is it because the equalisation of contracts isn't sorted as of yet I would assume.
Thats what the company bank on a union that they can string along, when the the union had a 97% mandate to strike drummed up all its members to back it then done a complete uturn that was it for alot of members, how many years can you be strung along and not question what the hell are the union doing.

The problem is Dave Ward said on video around 6/7 weeks ago there would be an update “next week” and it’s been complete radio silence ever since. Even just a quick couple of lines to say they are still talking with the company would be appreciated. For all we know talks may have stalled and the company could be about to take executive action around uso changes. That is speculation on my part but there are loads of rumours at the moment because Ward and Walsh can’t be arsed to keep the paying members even slightly in the loop.

You make a fair point.
I'm not convinced it because they can't be arsed though.
They must have decided it's for the best to take this approach right now and concentrate on negotiating with the company.
They will want movement on all these issues just as much as the paying members.

Yeah but not royalmail, they are actually implementing back door odm as we speak in the smaller offices and there's not a thing the union can do.

Yes, just 148 people as of the union report last summer. Caveats I mentioned in that thread are that recruitment was effectively frozen post-strikes until the summer of 2023, so 2½ years service is currently the absolute most that could be expected from the bulk of those on the new contracts.
Any Questions?
Yeah, how do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?

There is not a lot Martin/the CWU can do if RM are now refusing to equalise contracts, given RM are claiming they are still losing money (which seems hard to believe after the peak season we've just witnessed) it seems unlikely they are going to lose even more money by equalising contracts anytime soon.

Are we supposed to be sympathetic to people who signed up to particular Ts&Cs in the middle of or, to be very generous, the end of an industrial dispute?

It seems increasingly to me that a lot of folk want to complain about inferior pay whilst not being part of a union and simultaneously pleading ignorance to anything that may have occurred in a well publicised industrial relations issue that went on for a long time with the company they chose to sign a contract with not long thereafter.

Which I think some of us are allowed to find convenient and, well, tough.

The issue for legacy staff is that the longer new starters remain on the new terms then the sooner they are likely to be equalised downwards and within a few years all staff are on a similar contract?

I think British airways did something similar years ago.The new starters are hardly going to join in any action to protect our conditions.
Slider tool. Lol.
