Dave Ward used to post updates on here a while back. But every time he posted anything people would all start having a go at him and calling him names. I imagine thats part if the reason he rarely posts these days.

But having said that, they really should keep their members updated better. Even if there isn't much to say.

Nothing will happen about equalisation until the ODM (or whatever crazy new method they decide on) has been implemented, whether thats by agreement or pushed through by executive action regardless of what the average postie wants.

The CWU can only update us on equalisation/ODM when RM agree to do something? At the moment no news is good news for most union members, as it means no further ODM changes are imminent.
Most of the people moaning are not even union members..
I’m a union member(I must be nuts) and I think the hierarchy running it are a bunch of con men riding a wave towards their giant pensions on the back of members who they either ignore or outright sell out.
There are still some good local reps around but the leadership are some of the biggest grifters you will come across in society.
Why don’t you step up to the plate and make a difference ? You are very good at talking people down.
Is Dave’s job up for grabs like? Wouldn’t mind his 150k a year in exchange for selling out members and cuddling up to foreign Billionaires. As I said there are good local reps but the leadership of the cwu is rotten and corrupt in my opinion.

They probably realised how useless they are and stopped paying. Good on them.

I think you are referring to Martin Walsh, however he didn’t help himself by putting something forward, saying he’d answer any questions then ignored every single one and wouldn’t be seen again for 10 months.

My question will always be: why wouldn’t the CWU want a presence on the most popular RM forum, a forum where members can talk without fear of reprisal from management? They could easily set up a ‘CWU Official’ profile on here, that cuts out any direct name calling (which I agree is out of order by the way).

Either way they desperately need a better image. It’s absolutely dreadful at the moment, coupled with frequent radio silence and it’s not a good period. There’s a few younger ones involved higher up who I think should have a go at leading the union, but that would involve Ward stepping down. At the moment, the union is a bit like if Labour still had Gordon Brown bumbling along.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Anyone know where the CWU have disappeared to? Not a murmur on social media, no comment about the failures or the future .
The Comms department is currently being reorganised. First casualty is CWU Live.
Second should be Webb. Embarrassing performances in Parliament and outside Rico Back's house.

Was it him holding the card up at the Thompson committee?

You should do the lottery.

It is a disgrace not informing members of any information
Whether that be to say negotiations are taking place or not
The latter i suspect
And how could they go missing for a whole month some holidays they get
Martin got voted in by the smallest vote ever by his london members
It is made too difficult to stand against current memnership due to cwu rulings made up by current officers
It is not an open option for members to stand

There are major meetings with reps next week.

They dont care .. they ll get no luck for leaving new entrants in the dark once again, no luck.. lie after lie.. came out in November and threw a blanket around us and started going on about mps and parliament.. pure s****..instead of reasuring us going into Christmas.. I always use the word incentive when it comes to running any business.. but with royal mail there is NONE.. kretinsky should also be ashamed of himself .. you are meant to retain employees in any sucessful business..but in the 6 months since his reign we have seen 1000s of new entrants leave.. shame on him..

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
The amount of people commenting on being frustrated with updates about an update.
Nothing meaningful to report back.
If the company broke the agreed timeline for new entrants flight path to equalisation then that is on the company.
You can only negotiate in good faith.
If they union were helping to push through the USO changes then I would agree that they have not served their members well.
That isn't happening is it because the equalisation of contracts isn't sorted as of yet I would assume.
