Thanks for your reply.
We've looked at the on-line printing option but to be honest it's just too labourious. We send out between 30 and 50 packages a day, so individually printing a stamp for each one takes too long.
We're probably at the stage where we should look at franking our mail, but we are situated in a small viallage with a very small post office. We buy stamps from the PO and post them back there. Works well for us and we like to feel we're helping keeping the local PO in business. Mercifully it didn't go in the last round of closures.
My real complaint is why Royal Mail seem to withdraw certain stamps just when they are most needed.
For instance, most of our mail goes out as a large letter below 100g, no problem there. The next most comon is now costing 78p - and so Royal Mail, in their wisdom, withdraw this very stamp from sale. Why????
We now have to use mutliple stamps for this size package.
Our post office have told us that they are being directed to use the printed label rather than stamps, but this is so slow (why can't they have a decent printing set up that doesn't require labels to be manually loaded for each print?)
Had to get this off my chest and thanks for putting up with my rant.

They seem to be trying to justify closing the Post Offices.
Unfortunately, Royal Mail seem to be trying to justify their programme of closing Post Offices. They know that it is a major inconvenience to use loads of individual Stamps, instead of just one. So they hope that People will stop using the Post Office for Stamps, and use their Computer instead.
As you have a Business, I couldn't in all concience keep the information to myself. After all, why should you be penalised for our benefit.
