Letters addressed to USA sent to Roissy Piac France

Post by Mr Rusty »

Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone can explain why two letters sent tracked and signed for to the USA have gone to the Roissy Piac Export Centre in France? One sent last month which passed through and hasn't been seen since and another sent last week has also been sent there. Any clues why would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Items can sometimes be misdirected into the wrong bag due to human error. This occurs occasionally, and typically, the country that received the misdirected item will forward it to the correct destination through regular mail. Unfortunately, during this process, tracking may completely halt. In 99% of instances, the items do arrive eventually, though with significant delays.

Did you write USA as the last line of the address? All international mail must state the destination country.

Both the USA and France use 5 digit numerical postcodes and share some town & city names in common.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply - much appreciated.

USA in large letters on both envelopes and confirmed as the destination country on the Certificate of Posting.

I send a lot of these and it's never happened before - but twice in the last few weeks is sounding alarm bells (especially as the first one hasn't been seen since Oct 1st!) - I'm just trying to find out what's going on to prevent the same thing happening in future. If human error is a possibility could it be someone sorting them into an adjacent bag by mistake and if so would this be at my local depot (Southport) or further down the system?

Thanks again for your time and any information or suggestions much appreciated.
