I had an international parcel shipped 19/11 from Canada to the UK. It arrived in the UK on 22/11. Because it's so valuable to me I went on RM tracking and updated it to collect from my local DO. RM received it on 23/11 and the estimated collection date for me was 24/11. It was received at Nottingham MC and was dispatched to Newark DO (the requested collection destination, but also where it would have ended up anyway). The sender also sent me an untracked personal gift in a separate parcel. This arrived at my home on the 24th. My irreplaceable parcel is still not moving.
I have called customer service who think that the request I made to collect before they'd received it had stopped the parcel boarding the delivery van. My DO doesn't have it, but the sorting office equally can't find it either, but I doubt they can look. In a way, I'm happy there could be a reason for the delay. I don't know if this reason is a given or whether it was just their educated guess.
I was told that I shouldn't have been able to place this request so prematurely, and now I'm stressed this is my fault. Has anyone experienced anything like this and could advise where the parcel may have gone (put aside where it has to double check the address maybe?). Normally I can request a collection and it doesn't delay the process, sometimes royal mail just don't get these instructions in time and send it to my house.
I haven't slept for days
Does anyone have any advice to offer please? I would quite literally pay someone to take the day off and look for me
