What a poor deal. And that turnout, yikes!
I can't understand the low turnout, surely most CWU members have an opinion one way or the other, so why then leave to others to decide the outcome.
The truth is most workers are complete donuts that have no idea what’s going on around them , I see it every day in my office and I’m not talking about new staff either.
I’ll probably upset some here but during my near 10 years at RM so many talked a good game but that was it. When I left a lot said they were following me, none have. Everyone claims they have the worst round but when it comes to resign (if that’s still a thing), they stick on the same round they’ve been on for the last 20 years. A lot say they’ll stick it to the man, will cut off, not working over ever again, then they get offered a deal and they backtrack - I know because I was one of them, I accepted 9 hours bonus (on top of the 8 hours for working a day off) to end my own self imposed year long overtime ban.
Even with the takeover, people were given many months to state whether they wanted to sell their shares, I still see posts on social media saying ‘I never had the time to fill in the form, what do I do now.’ Never had the time to tick yes or no and put it back in the post or submit it online?!
It’s not just RM, I see it everywhere. Albert who’s said he’s going to fix that gate for the last 7 years, when all it needs is a bolt and a screwdriver, a 2 minute job if that. My dad, get this, moved into his current house 24 years ago, there are still moving boxes he ‘hasn’t had the time’ to go through.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
