The newcomers didn’t know that they’d be on such poor terms compared with us legacy contracts, had they known, they might not have signed up….

I DO feel let down because you said, multiple times and i quote “Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed”
I gave you the benefit of the doubt and held on to your words and it did not materialise the way you painted it. There was no inkling of having to wait “years” for harmonisation from the CWU in the build up to this vote. You are still in negotiations and will be for quite some time, possibly 2 years.

Aren't people that joined years and years ago still getting some extra payments?
Some posties don't have to drive cos they joined before a certain year.
Didn't certain posties get better pension deals depending on the year they joined Royal Mail.
Don't workplace coaches get £30 or £40 per week even when they aren't training anyone, when it's actually non-workplace coach posties that end up doing most of the training.
Don't managers get ridiculous bonuses when it is the posties that do most of the work.
There's a lot of unfairness in general at Royal Mail.
Some posties don't have to drive cos they joined before a certain year.

Swerving slightly but on the same road... new entrants.... apparently the first step of equalization commences in September..has anyone any idea what the first steps are? Paid breaks? Delivery supplement perhaps ?? Although I doubt that very much..

The ‘phrasing’ keeps changing. Before it was the first step for all new entrants will happen in September, now it is the first ‘touch’ will be in September with the full plan in December.
So Martin could you please confirm what new entrants will see in September because we are now just about in August and nobody has given any inkling what the September ‘step’ will be.
Seems a bit like the nothing is agreed till everything is agreed but now we already have part 1, 2 and god knows how many more parts.
So yes new entrants have every right to be feeling let down and nervous at what information has been nailed down at this late stage.

Every time I hear Martin speak I'm always left with more questions. He always manages to trickle something different in without actually confirming anything.
In fairness to him the agreement always stated these 3 & 6 month stages so I can see where he's coming from but no one on this shitty contract will be happy until its equalised.
If I was to guess to what is likely to happen in September it would be the paid breaks being the first step.

Reduction in hours is the cheapest but very close with paid meal breaks so either is possible (what about both lol).
‘The cost to equalise new entrants in one go is 183 million pounds.
The reason being
You need to reduce the hours from 40 to 37 hours which increases the hourly rate for all new entrants is £27 million pounds.
Paid meal reliefs as Royal Mail have to reduce working hours for all new entrants is £28 million.
The supplements is £42 million.
Inner and outer London Weighting is worth 40 million.
Recruitment and retention payments cost 30 million.’

As I see it, where I work.
The non legacy workers work alongside a legacy worker, starting and finishing at the same time both are working a 6 hour day. The legacy takes their break, the non legacy sits and waits, after 30 minutes they start working again, finishing together, clocking out together and both get paid 6 hours.
(I know this can be in 15+15, 20+10 etc)
Then the non legacy already gets paid for the break?
It’s not the responsibility of the legacy to send them off to do another loop.
