This is how it works in the first world now unfortunately. Late stage Capitalism is in full force, large scale public services have been fully bought up by faceless corporations, or in our case a single faced, foreign billionaire.Postie45 wrote: ↑24 Jul 2025, 12:03This is an easy no vote, this isn't a true pay increase when you allow for inflation, in fact over the next few years any further pay increase may only come when the government increases minimum wage because that's where we're heading.
We all know how tough this job is on our bodies and how much crap we hear from management and having to negotiate daily on how much we're going to be leaving behind. And they want to offer us minimum wage or barely above ?
This is insulting, the race to the bottom has truly now been achieved since regulation opened up the postal services, the service has been cut to shreds and now the pay and conditions for its workers are following.
But at least it's cheaper for the customer, so long as they're happy to wait longer as package mountains acrue on frames and go out after a few days.
Nothing matters other than year on year profit now and the workers will be gaslighted into believing their jobs are safe, until one day they ain't.
But who cares about that today, tomorrow, next week or the next peak...? Almost nobody lol
