I wonder if the DTS will sync to the new USO modelling? When the new USO duties come in we will be required to deliver whatever comes in the Mech Sorted mail trays that are put straight on the frames regardless as whether it is marked first class or not. The news that the DTS goes by calendar days would suggest that on a Thursday any held mail that is due to exceed the five day hold on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday for a duty not scheduled a CORE DAY on the Friday will get it all on a Thursday. Or will it just come through as it does now so we will still get higher volumes of mail on a Saturday that will need to be delivered because it came in the Mech trays.

Maybe the DTS will need to be altered to count working deliver days so just MON-FRI.

I had a full tray of mech yesterday that probably only had a dozen first class letters, Under the new USO only first class on a Saturday will fail if this is not resolved.
There are no changes being made to the way the DTS works.
Saturday delivery will be removed from D+5 according to OFCON.

So if it doesn't go out on Saturday and walk A is not due for second class on the Monday does the D+5 get held over til Tuesday? Loadsa mail on Tuesday for some properties on Tuesday then - at least it'll go with the Radio TImes for those who subscribe to it.

So it doesn't cut the call rate, as you've just admitted.
If 50% of the mech mail is being held by the DTS, that's a lot less DPs that will be getting mech mail, therefore a lower call rate. Packets, SDs, Tracked, manual letters and flats don't feed into the DTS data.
I'm not sure why you are always championing these deluded ideas from upper management, that do nothing but make delivery less achievable and more stressful. It makes you look completely ignorant and quite frankly, arrogant as f**k.
I don't give a f**k what you think. What the machine releases, I sequence, what it doesn't goes onto the DTS yorks. Once it's sorted and out the door, it's not our problem. If you really worked for RM, you'd know that no office gives a f**k about the next office in the chain, be that another MC or a DO. :cuppa

The new owners will probably want everyone in a DO to be able to do any walk (including any driving walks) or indoor content...
Agreed. Except I would say definitely not probably. It has been happening in my office for the whole time I’ve been there.

There is no practical reason to having every person able to do every job/route. It's simply not going to happen anyways.
The most you'll ever need is people having to learn a couple more frames/routes each.

Given that only 1c is due to be delivered it will clearly have to wait until the Tuesday, if it's similar to last week then that will mean somebody prepping 1 tray from Saturday, ¾ tray from Monday and 1 tray from Tuesday plus 3(?) trays of flat and probably a bag of non tracked, plus the usual Tracked items for a Tuesday.

So yet again on the shortest day of the week these two complete arsecakes manage to completely cock up DOs to ensure that a new week will start with us on the back foot. Yep let’s release all the mail we’ve been holding for F**k knows how many days on a Saturday!!!! So I walked in to 2 completely rammed trays for the only day this week, by the time prep & IPS was done and I got out only 4 hours to deliver on a walk that takes a minimum of 5 hours meaning that loads came back. Seems likely that I’m going across 2 duties on Monday so no mail will be going out so by the time customers receive it on Tuesday RM will have been in possession of it for 7 days. Amazingly as I was prepping it I knew that I had been to most of the houses during this last week (because the D2D had gone)with either manually sorted mail or packets yet this dim arsed system they’re using doesn’t recognise that. As I said what complete and utter arse cakes!!!!
its the same every saturday, just work your hours and go home.

Yeah but 2nd class isnt being delivered on Saturdays so what would normally be released and delivered, will then have to be deferred to the next ''all mail'' day which for the duties not going out on the Monday with all mail, will be the Tuesday
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

The 5 day limit IS NOT going. Anything that hits the 5 day limit now on a Friday and is released will continue to do so. Any DP that has a 1C item, any 2C for that DP will still be released if it's a Friday.

Then once it gets to the DO it'll sit untouched in a tray until it's prepped on the following Tuesday. It;';s anybody's guess when it will be delivered as if all the post isn't delivered on the Tuesday it'll then sit in the frame until the Thursday.
