You'll be lucky if there's one charger for every 3 vans.
Sounds about right, it's the RM way :chuckle

This isn’t progress. It’s a return to the days of electric milk floats lol.
It's called greenwashing and is just another way to keep moving the wealth into the top 0.01% of the population. (Mega corporations run by psychopaths.)

Late stage capitalism is a massive failure.

Each van at ours is allocated two days a week to charge them, it’s the duty holders or whoever is driving them on that given day to make sure that they’re charged, as we’ve got only ten charging points and more electric vans than that.
How is that working out? Our diesel vans are the walk holders responsibility to keep fuelled and it just doesn't happen.
Seems to to work out well. There’s nothing more annoying than getting into a non electric van and you see the yellow fuel light on, simply because some asshole can’t be bothered to refuel.

Why don't they make it the responsibility of the person who locks up at the end of the day to ensure that all electric vans are hooked up to the chargers and charging?
Or even better how about making it an instruction that when you return you must plug the van in, if you don't or forget it's a friendly reminder followed by a warning then an official warning.

We don't have any electric vans so I don't know what the charger situation is but if there's one available for every van I think what I've said above should be enforced.

Is that just down to not enough parking spaces which can have a charger installed next to them?

To some degree, yes. But there's also the cost and presumably the capacity of the electric supply.

As not all vans need charging everyday it shouldn't be a problem. In practice the batteries lose charge quicker over time and in the winter, and sometimes chargers play up, etc.

Does your MC have electric charging points for the vans?

AFAIK we don't have any electric vans. Just about every parking space in our yard needs to be usable by 600s as well, which would foul any charger unit.

Wilful delay - Is that such a thing anymore?? Last week, some of our duties had 3 days worth of mail to deliver and we are not even a trial office. Everything has kicked into overdrive now that Ofcom have given RM the green light to run deliveries down. Having recruited over a dozen staff we are now back to cost cutting again.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
