What sort of mug gives RM free time? Why? :arrrghhh
I know, we have mugs at our place who start 1 hour early every day and then get back early and have to stand around for 40 minutes as they can’t leave early! It’s just bizarre I mean haven’t they got homes to live in!?
It's an illness.

Is overtime actually going to start being paid via SISO? if so, when, and will it be rolled out at the same nationally?

At the moment they are clamping down on the mismatch between hours claimed /paid and the data provided by SISO.
It was always said when it came in that it would eventually be tied to pay.
It seems to me it's being done in stages.

The first part was just getting people used to using it properly

The second (where I believe we are) is about RM using the data it provides to see the real hours that are worked.
If there's still anyone out there at all pulling off ghost OT I predict that this will stop PDQ, managers will be questioned as to why Jimmy sprint is getting paid 2 extra hours a day but always scans out on time or earlier.
The more bollockings a manager gets about something the more they will clamp down on it..

The third I suspect will be absolutely be no scan no pay, at least without the hassle of groveling to a manager to override the system because my dumb ass forgot
Or even deduction pay for late arrival or early departure....

Far more years ago than I care to count I worked in a supermarket and you scanned in before walking on to the shop floor. And out again when you left (including for your lunch break)
The rule there was if you scanned in more than 3 minutes past your start time you would be docked 15 minutes of pay, likewise if you scanned out more than 3 minutes early.

I have little doubt that the people who are stressing, panicking or loudly whinging about having to do this correctly (or even at all) are the ones who have been blissfully screwing themselves over in the hope of a pat on the head that will never come, or have something entirely dishonest to hide.

If it's the former (I suspect the majority) Help at Hand has councillors available who can help you work through whatever it is that is driving you to run yourself in to the ground and tie yourself up in knots in the hope of getting a KitKat or something at the end of the month...you won't get the KitKat, no-one ever does.

If it's the latter, what else are you doing and hiding that you shouldn't be? These are few and far between I hope but needless to say the business and your colleagues would in all likelihood be much better off if you scanned out just once to never scan in again.

Yes they can disapline you for 8 minutes early as your not insured to be on the premises until your star time 5 minutes has been allowed so your ready for work at start time management turn a blind eye because it’s free work if anything happened to someone not on duty they would be in the 💩
I’d like to see the wording on that insurance document, if that’s true.
You won't be able to see it because it's utter bollocks. RM might not want you in when you're not scheduled to be, but it's absolutely nothing to do with their insurance (that's just a line that's fallen back on to try and make it seem really serious).

NB for the weak-minded, I'm not advocating going in early. But if you log in ten or fifteen minutes before your time because traffic was lighter than expected or the driving conditions were better or whatever, it should be no big deal. If RM want to bring in a policy of 'no logging in/entering the building earlier than x minutes before your official start time', they could do that. But so far they haven't and I suspect it's hugely unlikely they ever will.

Good post!!

Just to add…..
It’s a line fallen back on by those who are unable to get up in time to shower, have a breakfast, get themselves ready for a day’s work and in a few minutes before start time.
Get your own lives in order before constantly criticising those who do the above!!!

Picture the graph...
On one axis we have all the bean-counting practices across the last 15-20 years: lapsing, the elimination of ghosting (rightly or wrongly), no more double time being paid to clear cutoffs, SISO, everything that has been loaded onto core delivery, etc etc.
On the other we have how clear the office is across that same duration.

The more they scrimp the worse it gets!
The machine stops.

I wouldn't put it past RM to eventually stop managers from being able to edit or override any SISO data

What good would that really achieve?

Simple, it would show that the actual data is reliable and not something fiddled by some dopey manager for his little mate.
It's a fully autonomous recording system, so why would they let Joe Bloggs start fannying with it?
Even more so when it's linked to pay, as it will be in time.
