Special delivery not left post office
Hi, posted a high value item on Wednesday and it hasn't moved since. I posted using Special delivery guaranteed 1pm. What can I do? Someone on twitter said they can't do anything. I went back to the post office I posted from and they don't have it

"Sender preparing item" in this context should be when the Post Office ran off their manifest of Special items before handing over to Royal Mail. But there should be at least one tracking point on an RM site by now.

In RM's terms no - it's classed as lost five working days after it was due to be delivered for a Special Delivery (Saturday is not classed as a working day for a normal Special Delivery - as opposed to a Saturday Guaranteed Special Delivery). So you posted it Wednesday, that makes it due on Thursday. So if it's not delivered by end of next Thursday then you can start the claim process.
If you try claiming for loss before then they'll say you'll have to wait.
Fingers crossed it'll turn up. If it turns up in the meantime you'll be able to claim for delay when it is actually delivered.
Did you put a return address on it?
