If at the National Returns Centre (which is in Belfast, BTW) then I recommend that the sender completes a lost parcel form in order to retrieve it.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
@Snaggletooth Thank you so much. I will advise exactly that. So what happens at Gatwick because that was the last location where the item was received.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
Well, it didn’t go through Gatwick on the way out. Which makes me think that it went to Gatwick to catch the plane to Belfast. It probably then missed a scan or two on its way (this does happen occasionally) and is now waiting in a queue to be processed at the NRC. But that is all an educated guess.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
Hello everyone. I’m sorry to be a bother but I’m just exhausted and confused from this whole package situation.
Firstly, I sent an email to royalmailhq and they responded saying that they have initiated a search in Gatwick and at the National Returns Center and will give me an update once the parcel is found.
On the other hand, royalmail help on Twitter claims that the parcel is lost and I should file a complaint/it hasn’t scanned into their National returns center.
Over the phone, the customer care rep says I should give 5-7 working days for the parcel to be returned to the address I’ve newly given.
I don’t know what to believe/do anymore.
I desperately need those items as they are of sentimental value to me.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
Your best shot is to fill in an online claim form when we advise posters of this, sometimes it seems to sort any issues.

Update-Royal mail investigated and said the parcel isn’t at the NRC as they have checked through their records twice.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
Hi, I sent a tracked item (RL853210144IE) from Ireland to Brighton on 23rd July 2025. On 25th July tracking shows that it was being "sorted for delivery" and 26th July "Your delivery request has been shared with your postal operative" but the item, which contains important documents, has not been delivered. Further tracking indicates that it is at Gatwick MC since 03:26 on 26th July and hasn't moved since.
Any help would greatly be appreciated in finding this item (A5 cardboard-backed envelope) and progressing it to Brighton.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
They claim they can’t do anything about it as they already initiated a search at the NRC and that’s the most they are able to do seeing it didn’t have a Returns address. They said they’ll now consider it ‘lost in transit in Gatwick MC’. The literal worst news ever. I regret everything. I so regret it.

Re: Package stuck at Gatwick MC
Hello everyone. Royal mail sent me an email saying that Gatwick MC has responded and that my parcel was processed without any issues at their MC. Is it possible for this parcel to be at my local delivery office seeing that it’s currently not at the NRC or Gatwick MC?i’ll appreciate your suggestions and replies, thank you very much.
