Well, I wont be doing it for nothng, thats for sure. If I go over, then i'm claiming. And I know that everyone in the office feels the same on this.asbru wrote:Collapsing walks in summer is part of phase 3 which as far as I know isn't agreed anywhere yet. If you happen to go over then you claim, but, you should have some idea before you leave so that you can tell them to shove it - if everyone just accepts it and the odd ones book over then management will call it a success - if a few of you tell them you can't complete in the allotted time then it becomes more work for them and shows that it is not the grand idea they think it is!!If I go over, then i'm claiming. And I know that everyone in the office feels the same on this.
Do your job properly and don't run around - they can't force you to work over your hours, so don't and thus show them fools how unworkable this plan is.

Re: summer staffing
we have all got together to agree not to pick any and let them go with the de-fault of lapsing duties between weeks 11 to 21 as when we ask them about phase 3 all we get is that wont ever come in ,so it left us withwoofwoof wrote:weeks 11 - 21 they want us collapsing walks or banking hours every day a full timer 1 hour and part timer 30 mins and the third option zero pressure for the year and all staff to help split bag carriers walks
1. so we go with no pressure and then they bring phase 3 in wich is lapsing duties anyway
2 bank hours they bring phase 3 in and lapse duties
3. say sod it go with de-fault if u want then we dont get 2 for the price of 1 like at tesco
3 was the winner let them choose the de-fault

Crozier said, he had no argument with people that went over their time claiming docket. For crissakes wheres the union rep. in all this. If I can remember Crozier saying that, then they should have it on bloody tape.heapsy wrote:Well, I wont be doing it for nothng, thats for sure. If I go over, then i'm claiming. This last agreement, as I have said on numerous occasions, has put the idea in RM managements head that they can change work practices over and over again. We caved in and look at all the posts relating to incidents like this one. DOM's in one area implementing stuff other areas had never heard of. Its a bloody con.

In our office they want to do longs and shorts, 7.15 mon + tue, 8.30 wed, thur and fri, but also just had a walk duty removed leaving only 11 walks, now they wanna take another out during summer, so when i take my break i will have 6.35 hours to do ips, prep, my walk, and 2 parts from the removed walks, as well as weighing my bags, getting to my start point, getting back to the office, i dont think so do you?

They can take out whatever they like - but they cannot insist that you work over your contracted hours - you are the best judge of whether you will complete within the allocated duty time for that day so give them the choice of pay me or find someone to cover - better still, make the choice for them.shaunman wrote:In our office they want to do longs and shorts, 7.15 mon + tue, 8.30 wed, thur and fri, but also just had a walk duty removed leaving only 11 walks, now they wanna take another out during summer, so when i take my break i will have 6.35 hours to do ips, prep, my walk, and 2 parts from the removed walks, as well as weighing my bags, getting to my start point, getting back to the office, i dont think so do you?
I am just waiting for the time when the management decide to bank hours weekly so that you have to finish the allocated work each day - by around 11a.m. on a Thursday we will all have done our 40 hours and we can tell them what we will be doing on our long weekend while they are out delivering our walks.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile
