The MC side of it is already to go everywhere. All flat and letter frames have got indicators to show if it's 1C or 2C being sorted on them. It won't take long to stock up a tray label frame with new 2C tray labels. I'm assuming that we'll start sorting the inward 1C and 2C on separate frames from July 1st.toonshola wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025, 19:32Royal Mail want ofcom to give the green light for uso reform by 1st July. Ofcom have said they will make announcement “in the summer” which very well could be 1st July. Royal Mail have already started the planning for uso change even in offices which arnt in the pilot. All this without union agreement, Ward and Walsh said there would be no uso agreement before everything was settled in the agreement with EP.
We are possibly 10 days away from the one bargaining chip the union have in negotiations disappearing away. Where the hell are Ward and Walsh? Why the silence?
They did this last time and Walsh said lessons will be learned and more communication would be given next time and any future agreement wouldn’t be “served cold”Clearly a lie. They hold the paying members in complete contempt.

Well , there is one way to find out. Why not have a lively debate, get all the facts out there and let the members have their say. Certainly would increase engagement levels. Might get more of a turnout than Martin and Dave done deal combined.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025, 19:08Are you serious?
Do you honestly think they would get more than a handful of votes?
Given the voting proclivities of the English they would all vote Reform before voting PWRFC.
Don’t think lord haw haw would qualify for the ballot.
Bye

Smooth your probably spot on with your thoughts, but i do have a problem with what you state. Do you believe that you "New Entrants" will never have any need for a union? Do you believe if the company levels up so that it's back to a 1 tier workforce that you still won't need a union?Smoothbackground wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025, 04:30It wasn’t so much about being altruistic and “supporting new entrants” back in 2022; it was more about the fact you guys and your union should have fought the two-tier working to save your closed shop while you had the chance. You didn’t. Massive, massive own goal. The CWU and its union, including its membership, is now terminally ill as a result.
On the subject of strikes, I reckon a good 90 per cent of us new entrants would have no qualms with crossing a picket line. Some of us have done it before and would do it again.
It's the blase way you state 90% of the Newbies would cross a picket line, that makes me think you might just always be a 2 tier workforce as the legacy will trump you every chance they get.
You should all really try to get on the one side, get the contracts levelled up, back each other up and have everyone onside to get the best outcome for all.
I know its maybe a pipedream, but i have been around long enough to see what can happen.

Scotchy, you are right, I do believe other new entrants will have a need/want for union representation. But I don’t think it will ever be the CWU who represents us. Unfortunately the interests of legacy workers, on the one hand, and us on new-entrant contracts on the other hand, mean the CWU has an irretrievable conflict of interest in trying to represent both groups of workers. This whole “them v us” was acquiesced to at best, waved through and welcomed at worst, by the CWU. And I wasn’t very clear, but it was crossing a CWU picket line that I was referring to, rather than just any old picket.scotchy1962 wrote: ↑21 Jun 2025, 07:23Smooth your probably spot on with your thoughts, but i do have a problem with what you state. We've been told the opposite it seems meetings are taking place to plan the move for later this summer. If OFCOM gives the OK this summer why would RM wait until after Christmas to start saving money?Pidleypoo wrote: ↑21 Jun 2025, 16:01Been told today that our uso reform won’t be happening until after Christmas.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑20 Jun 2025, 20:17The MC side of it is already to go everywhere. Pretty sure RM are not saving any money with the trials/pilots they have going on at the moment and to push that out to the rest of the UK before working out a solution would be madness.

Her command is clearly better than your command.
You come across as a bit of an ignorant prick.
