Just be the usual garbage, talks are complicated, intense, positive, progress has been made on issues, talks extended for further two weeks. Rinse and repeat for the whole of the summer then surrender to some half arsed 4% payrise with a bit of back pay and a million strings attached in the Autumn by which point we will be having a right laugh with the new USO.

Often there is little alternative other than to like it or lump it. We can only vote on what is presented to us. Its more like being press ganged.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Jun 2025, 21:13Don't forget that it's also deliveries that vote the s**t deals in. Delivery staff outnumber MC staff by about 8:1 if the numbers in a recent thread are accurate.

Why won't the CWU actually tell us what the inflation busting deals they turned down actually are ?

Re: 5th June deal Update.
I suspect it's because when it comes time for us to vote on it they will sell it to us as the best deal. That we must accept it as they have already rejected loads of others for us and that the membership rejecting this one will be futile.

Re: 5th June deal Update.
That's not quite correct. If anything it's the other functions that vote in the deals, as happened with the functional supplements. Because the CWU deliberately do not organise deliveries, it's deliveries who don't vote. The CWU relies on a captive audience, like processing, to forced through it's awful deals. This time will be no different.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑05 Jun 2025, 21:13Don't forget that it's also deliveries that vote the s**t deals in. How do you know who does and doesn't vote?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

To be fair to the CWU it is Pride month and they will have far more important things to worry about other than a pay rise. Flags to be paid for and vans painted. Posters to be put up. Give them a break.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
