I enjoy my work, well actually I enjoy working no matter what I did, I admit their are times I wish I was back at romec but then again, I am a valued part of a good team, I wish i was full time but leighton don't like disabled people for some strange reason.
When I was a chef I use to an AFD (All effing day) sometimes 17hours a day (brekkies 6am and depends on how you were and whether their are functons, 11pm at night), but quite often 12hours aday tween 5 - 7 days a week for a basic 40hour salary. Christmas time I can remember starting 6am first monday of october and not really leaving (bar xmas day and boxing day) till 10pm last sunday of jan. Saying that it was easier to sleep at the hotel. (of course the functions was good.) Saying all that i enjoyed being a chef, but being at royal mail at least If I work over 6hours a day I get a choice to cut off or get paid over.
Talking about harreshment(sue me I can't spell) and bullying, yes the managers do bully and strike fear, but some of the head chefs I worked under have been known to chucks knives, (still got scars and burns), pans and really abrusive yet I gave as good as I got and was respected for it, now I can't tell a manager to F off yet he or she can insult me, go figure.
The point I am making is if you do the job completely as it should be, your covered, you get paid and all the worrying and stress goes to those that deserve it, as garfield the cat once said, I reserved all my abused for the lower life forms ie idiotic managers
