Can you enlighten us with some feedback from the pilots then Woody? 20 minutes extra is not enough to deliver 2-3 days mail?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:22Depends on what attendance pattern your office goes with, the modelling assumed 40min on a Monday and 20-25min Tuesday to Friday but the feedback from the pilots is that this isn't enough on the all mail delivery.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:17How much longer?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 20:06But you won't be leaving a quarter on the frame.

One of the pilot attendance options has a shift length of 9hrs 40, so they’d expect you to be delivering for 7 hours of that.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:17How much longer?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 20:06But you won't be leaving a quarter on the frame.

I'm worried about the indoor prep time on these so called 7 hour delivery spans if I'm honest, unless certain DOs just invent FT indoor early sorting duties lolBarnacle wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 17:49One of the pilot attendance options has a shift length of 9hrs 40, so they’d expect you to be delivering for 7 hours of that.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:17How much longer?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 20:06But you won't be leaving a quarter on the frame.

Remember when we used to have them, on Nightshift, at the DOs 20 years ago?

Re: Non drivers
They’re trying to reduce indoor prep, which all seems brilliant on a fag packet until the worker drones start collapsing through exhaustion. 7 hours of a 95% call rate will have us dropping like flies.Londonsburning wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 18:05I'm worried about the indoor prep time on these so called 7 hour delivery spans if I'm honest, unless certain DOs just invent indoor early sorting duties lolBarnacle wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 17:49One of the pilot attendance options has a shift length of 9hrs 40, so they’d expect you to be delivering for 7 hours of that.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:17How much longer?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 20:06But you won't be leaving a quarter on the frame.

Re: Non drivers
If I am taking 2 days mail out on these mega duties then I def will be leaving mail. Not a hope in hells chance will I be completing that no matter if it is a 5-6 hour delivery. Also Iike I said I will not be sprinting around, I will go at my reasonable pace doing everything by the book. If they want me to scan every single packet (like I just read today they wan to do) then great it means less time for me to complete my round. Work your time and go home only advice you need.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 20:06But you won't be leaving a quarter on the frame.

How do they 'reduce indoor prep' then? If the DO still delivers to same same area, surely 'indoor prep' considerably increases?Barnacle wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 18:11They’re trying to reduce indoor prep, which all seems brilliant on a fag packet until the worker drones start collapsing through exhaustion.

Think its a bit ambitious to suggest that an extra quarter of a current frame with double mail should be done with a 20 min longer shift spanWoody Guthrie wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:22Depends on what attendance pattern your office goes with, the modelling assumed 40min on a Monday and 20-25min Tuesday to Friday but the feedback from the pilots is that this isn't enough on the all mail delivery.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 16:17How much longer?Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑11 Apr 2025, 20:06But you won't be leaving a quarter on the frame.

Re: Non drivers
The mail arrives sorted into the correct route 1c or 2c for the day. You only put into one frame and you are vertical prepping. You could be out of the door in an hour and a half and that includes having your break.Londonsburning wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 18:27How do they 'reduce indoor prep' then? That’s how they imagine it happening. We’re possibly whistling a jolly tune while we work.
It’s bunkum.

Just that sentence alone tells you they are deluded. It’s easy when it’s on a computer model. Our office is a hybrid collection office, so unless they put all the collections back on SA, there isn't enough staff to single prep.Barnacle wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 19:26Just that sentence alone tells you they are deluded. 1. All part timers are desperate for more hours and that's fuelled by the fact they set people on on less hours than the job requires which to a point is true but lots of people applied for the advertised hours because that suited them and they don't want to work over.
2. Everyone is equally desperate for more Saturdays off, it's not the case, many including me like a rotating day off, it's really handy to book appointments and it breaks up the working week, what people probably would prefer is to be able to book odd days holidays such as Saturday's off without it being the most impossible task ever for someone who's job title is manager but in reality couldn't manage a fart without shitting themselves

Re: Non drivers
With the large workforce RM have you are never going to have a system which suits everyone. You want to keep your rotating day off I want to keep my Wallington and potentially add an extra Saturday to that. I'm also guessing you like myself have no desire to work a 9 day fortnight while others seem to be all for it.
Getting the odd day off here and there has become a lot easier in our office, you just come back to 2 days mail
