Who has faith in Walsh and the CWU????

If over half voted believe that the union have completely failed in negotiations in the past two decades.
How do they feel their current job would look like now if Royal Mail had free reign at making the changes/plans they would have liked to implement?
I presume exactly the same as it does now?

Where we are now is where the company wanted to be ten years ago if they had free reign. So, yes, the union is a time-delay circuit but we get there in the end. I guarantee you: where the company wants to be today will not require waiting a decade at the union's current effectiveness. Soon they'll run out of T&Cs they can keep throwing at the beast to satiate it. If only they'd throw an oxygen tank in the shark's maw.

Assuming when you get out you then work for another employer rather than work self employed, you'll probably find things just as bad and may well not have any union support whatsoever.

This is the problem with half the people in this job, the truth is you probably won't "find things just as bad" unless you get a job at Amazon or Evri.

Royal Mail didn’t care about that mandate, they literally wrote off that Xmas to prove that point .

A slight rephrase: once that happened it was all about RM getting the CWU(‘s influence and power) out in one piece. It achieved that, arguably, with the new-entrant workforce. It pits friends and colleagues either side of divide, legacy and new contract, against one another.
