I can see some customers getting angry when we've brought their parcel to the front door and we can't give it to them because they don't have the pin number.
Hopefully retailers will warn them as part of the checkout process
Yep & then hopefully any sane person who knows they won’t be around thinks “bollocks to all that, I’ll do without until I can pop into town to buy it”

We haven't been told this but we're told we are now going back to having Van Keys attached to our belts via clip so we always take the keys out the van.

Sure we've tried this years ago and it failed miserably!🤦‍♂️
Yep , like having a yo-yo attached your trousers, ridiculous idea and been told will be conducted if found not using it .
Its not a ridiculous idea its a very good idea ,
We have used them in Parcelforce for many years without issue ,
If you get your van stolen with the keys in it you get sacked ,
It is easy to forget to take them out of the ignition ,
but this system prevents that and stops some scumbag getting your van and contents and saves your job .

I see the 'competition' leave their vehicles unlocked and running all the time; and since the company is always so keen to copy everything they do, it only seems appropriate.

Been in the job over 30 years and not once left keys in ignition, it’s a stupid idea .

The customers won't know the pin.
You called it! What a colossal waste of time.

That would mean they have to read and understand the email they receive from the retailer, given some customers seem to struggle to find and then use their front door keys then you do she to wonder how their brains work.

I thought PCOD was supposed to be the ultimate proof of delivery to end all fraudulent claims? Isn't that why it got rolled out to every goddamn Tracked, Specials, and most internationals? :arrrghhh

How is GPS + photo + signature not enough?
Probably to stop postmen signing for it themselves then doorstepping it.

I was told in the meeting it was for age verification parcels, not for normal tracked.
We were told normal tracked with only a few at first but potentially more as time goes by.

Just wait for the notes on door "leave packet in bin, PIN is 7832" :left:

Just 739 it. We’ve been told you can’t even accept the code if told via Ring doorbell.

Won’t be a problem if it’s only very rarely used but I seem to remember Tracked was only for “a select few customers who demanded it”. Then the photograph on delivery started out “only for a select few customers who demanded it”, this is being messaged out in exactly the same way so we shall see. Will also be a nuisance if it’s abused like the Age Verification is where you’re piss balling about getting a year of birth etc just to be told by a confused customer that they’ve only ordered a?cat litter tray or something else as harmless.

It will mean more stuff is taken back to the office as there won’t be time to get to every door with all the pissballing.

Used to be able to just hand someone a parcel and job done. Now it’s photo this sign that what’s your date of birth, mothers maiden name and sort code or you can’t have that pair of trainers you ordered from sports direct.
