If this is true then parcel rounds will either have to half in size or the managers will give us some kind of override code because at least half would have to come back to the office :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

It would be as if every tracked item is a signed for but the customer has to check their emails before signing for it :thumbup

I thought PCOD was supposed to be the ultimate proof of delivery to end all fraudulent claims? Isn't that why it got rolled out to every goddamn Tracked, Specials, and most internationals? :arrrghhh

How is GPS + photo + signature not enough?
The machine stops.

just been told about this today. Tracked is going to change, where the customer has to provide you with a pin number in order to receive the parcel. So if this is on every tracked item, it seems you will be bringing back half your items every day as you simply cant deliver it anymore regardless if customer in or not. If correct this will put endless time on duties we already struggle with, where is the logic?

This might be the dumbest idea ive heard yet from RM
Had to do this to get a parcel from dpd the other day. Copying them I guess.

The OTP — one-time passcode — is an Amazon innovation.

Why not use this to replace special deliveries if it is just for high value items?

75% of people are never at home, we take it out twice, trying to get it back in a van that is already full, bring it back to the depot where customer collections will go through the roof. Currently handling a package once, let’s handle it 3 times and they still won’t be home

Hopefully this will be just for higher value items where at present you need a signature, basically RM, or it's customers, don't trust posties to get signatures and so are forcing them to physically hand over the item to the customer, unless they just give you the pin via the Ring camera!

How will this work with multiple occupancy where you deliver parcels to reception? Delivering to students will be interesting too? More ways to reduce the profitability of each parcel. As with letters, are they making parcel delivery over complicated and expensive to make way for Daniel's parcel lockers? :wave

I can see some customers getting angry when we've brought their parcel to the front door and we can't give it to them because they don't have the pin number.

We haven't been told this but we're told we are now going back to having Van Keys attached to our belts via clip so we always take the keys out the van.

Sure we've tried this years ago and it failed miserably!🤦‍♂️
Yep , like having a yo-yo attached your trousers, ridiculous idea and been told will be conducted if found not using it .

I was told in the meeting it was for age verification parcels, not for normal tracked.

Hopefully retailers will warn them as part of the checkout process
