Just a quick question regarding days off, in particular Saturdays. How does 1 in 2 work, as it would mean 2 out of 3 people are off each Saturday. Or is it a 9 day fortnight for driver with 1 in 3 Saturdays etc.hans solo wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 14:58Ayr and Girvan DO uso trials
3 posties cover 4 duties
2 cover 2 whole duties with everything
All mail (can be 3 days worth 2nd class and DSA
And over 75% d2d on monday
1 postie will cover 2 driving duties with 1st class and all pkts and trackeds 2nd class where your attending with 1st class
If they have time they help other 2
Drivers rotate duties walking mans on double treble mail every weekday
Walking man also to work every other sat inside
Prepping d2ds and mail /packets
At present we cant manage 2 days mail in 1 frame if someones off
What could possibly go wrong

Re: USO update
This is how
Your walk will not be changing size and your call rate will go from 50 odd% to 78% daily so therefore....
Oh wait a minute
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

That’s ok then.claretandblue wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 07:04Yes, for parcels but not for mail.Pidleypoo wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025, 20:51Unless people are going to change their buying habits then Wednesdays will still be the busiest parcel days.jessicarabbit wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025, 20:46Mon route A will have had the 2c last delivered on Thursday so effectively 3 days mail less the 1c.
Tue route B will have had the 2c last delivered on Friday so effectively 3 days mail less the 1c
Current modelling estimates a 78% call rate add in the D2D prep that needs to be done, Monday and Tuesday become the new Wednesdays.
It's got s**t show and clusterfuck written all over it.
So having 2 days mail on the busiest parcel day whilst said day will have to be shorter sounds like a good idea.

Why is it that the people who are deemed to be the ones with brains are the ones who F**k everything up. This is such a simple job that is being F****d up by people who’ve studied at Uni & worked in the very top of business for years. Just like the country this company has gone to the dogs…….both totally F****d up by thick as mince A holes.hans solo wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 14:58Ayr and Girvan DO uso trials

Yes they could really simplify this whole thing but instead they have come up with a system that is destined to fail.

How would rural deliveries be affected by this new method?

Not the same unless it's a global corporation, or a business trying to sell to the highest/only bidder

Duties fail now with mail accumulating or OPGs doing just tracked off a CDV.
We haven't really had a revision in a while but since the parcel increase in our area and the Amazon work we seem to pick up more frequently people are struggling.
We would definitely need additional parcel support Wednesday to Saturday.
Monday doesn't seem to be a particularly light parcel day these days either and with all the extra mail and D2Ds it will be a tough working week.
For QOS to hit its desired target they may need to add more hours than they think in certain offices.
Overtime may not be possible to to fatigue.
Will need that extra day off that's for sure.

Re: USO update
How can the CWU agree to this when it means QOS will hit the floor in every office using this method. Without smaller duties like was promised at the start this system will collapse.

Problem is they will make the trials work but will be realistically unachievable once we are all doing it and the bullying managers will want frames clearkazardaimenu wrote: ↑04 Feb 2025, 07:15How can the CWU agree to this when it means QOS will hit the floor in every office using this method.
