Not a complete ban at ours, but it’s been drastically reduced.

One of two have been in on their day off to cover their own duty, the cover being off sick.Londonsburning wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:27Interested on how they are allocating OT at yours? we are a zero policy and have been for a couple of weeks now
I saw one of the o/t kings driving out of the office yesterday in a RM van, just as I’d finished for the day, so he’s been able to get some.
On certain days, later in the week, duties can go over by no more than 20 minutes.

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
I take it you are in a small office, we have quite a few reserves who cover sick absence and 'lats' and the place is still failing unapologetically lolSMS1969 wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:36One of two have been in on their day off to cover their own duty, the cover being off sick.Londonsburning wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:27Interested on how they are allocating OT at yours? we are a zero policy and have been for a couple of weeks now

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
So how are the COMs allocating the drastically reduced OT to people then? Are they picking names out a hat or what??SMS1969 wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:49No we’ve got over 100 posties.Londonsburning wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:46I take it you are in a small office, we have quite a few reserves who cover sick absence and 'lats' and the place is still failing unapologetically lolSMS1969 wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:36One of two have been in on their day off to cover their own duty, the cover being off sick.Londonsburning wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:27Interested on how they are allocating OT at yours? we are a zero policy and have been for a couple of weeks now

With it being minimal overtime, not many are bothering and leaving letters in.

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
I offered to come in to cover my duty as there was no cover for my day off and was told I'd have to cover a DPR parcel route that I don't know and someone who has never done my duty must cover that duty.SMS1969 wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:36One of two have been in on their day off to cover their own duty, the cover being off sick.Londonsburning wrote: ↑28 Jan 2025, 18:27Interested on how they are allocating OT at yours? we are a zero policy and have been for a couple of weeks now

Re: Parcels through the roof!!
I’m in an MC, there has been agency and OT all along until last week when all were canned due to the “further decline in workload”
(we don’t have the “OT ban” there’s still odd hours to pick up but no full shifts)
Pay day has been a long time coming for monthly paid society, their last payday would have been New Year week,
still not payday until this friday, then the xmas credit card bills will land.
Time for folk to tighten their belts,
It’s Over till easter.

Those who rely on OT need to urgently find a second job or source of income / get down cash convertors etc
May even need to return the SUV back to the dealer’s.
Massive global economic recession coming.
Next thread will be titled “Parcel’s through the floor!!”
