What to do if your postie is an aggressive lunatic?

Post by fatspeccyapparently »

Got another red card through the letterbox this morning, the latest in a long line(during our argument the postie in question said he's been my regular for years and I've never seen the bloke before, which tells you how often he bothers to actually deliver). He had come while I was in the bathroom, which is right next to the flat door, and I called out to please leave the parcel at the door. I heard the letterbox and knew the parcel I was waiting for wouldn't go through so I rushed to get presentable and found a card that was blank, as usual. Opened the door and he was just coming back down and leaving, asked him if he'd not heard me, he said he hadn't and anyway why did I care it was delivered to my neighbour(who he had to deliver his parcels to as it was his buzzer he rang to get into the stair; everyone else is either waiting at the door to open it within five seconds or he's ridden off into the sunset), I replied how was I supposed to know that with a blank bloody card and he just lost the plot bellowing don't effing swear at me, who are you, look at the state of you you fat speccy balding c***, I always do my job properly etc, and when I responded in kind(I think my exact words were a slightly surprised "oh do eff off, I'm tired of getting nothing but bloody cards") he escalated to lunging into my personal space and threatening to punch me, again called me a "fat effing c***", and told me he was putting in a complaint about me and I'll never get deliveries again.

The whole thing has been a proper shock. I'm autistic so beyond the unpleasantness of the interaction itself I'm pretty dependent on mail order and plenty of companies still insist on using royal mail. I put in a complaint of my own but between the stories I've read here & elsewhere about institutional not-giving-a-f*** and posties who're best pals with their managers etc I don't expect anything to come of that especially as my neighbour insists they heard nothing. There's no cameras so I can't go to the police. Can a postman really just complain about you and stop you from getting your mail?

You should still flag it up with your delivery office know one should be spoke to that way,it is his word against yours but it might make him think twice next time.
