Carley, you can buy sheets of 5p, 10p, 2p, 1p stamps at the Post Office.

This will help you get to your exact intended amount.

Just an update since Nov 2024, I have been using a 1st class stamp on my 2nd class large letter <100g mail and writing under the stamp (2nd LL)
The post office has been ok accepting these and i've not had a single recipient report any sort of surcharge.
Ive also been using a 1st plus a 50p stamp for my 2nd class <250g and at this point now i will have sent at least a couple of hundred if not more 2nd class packages out using that method since the price changes in November.
So from my experience it looks like RM revenue protection are not concerned about people using 1st class stamps on 2nd class LL mail.
