Hi all!
I recently sent a couple of letter sized parcels through a post box with the tracked 24/48 hour label printed on them after purchasing them on the Royal Mail website.
However after researching it seems there are conflicting statements confirming this is actually a correct method of posting?
I’m a bit concerned my packages won’t be delivered properly now?
Any help or advice is appreciated. I am pretty new to posting this way.

You should have used the Royal Mail App to scan the packages when you posted them because if you did not you have no proof of postage.

I took pictures of the labels when they were stuck on the package? Reckon that could help?

Re: Posting Tracked 24/48 in a post box?
All post boxes are emptied everyday, so your items will ultimately end up at a mail centre, at which point they may be sent to the tracked team or sent straight through the machines.
SpacePhoenix will have a bit more information on this procedure.
Anyway, keep checking the tracking references that you have photo's of.

What do you think the correct method of posting might be?
It shouldn't make any difference.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Posting Tracked 24/48 in a post box?
It’s totally fine to post T24/T48 in a postbox if you don’t require proof of posting. The Royal Mail site states this. The only potential issue is the item might not be picked up as “tracked” at the outward or inward Mail Centre so you may not get full updates as it passes through the network. But once it hits the destination delivery office it should be scanned, and also when delivered.
I’m not sure where you stand re compensation if an item is lost and not scanned anywhere - but if it gets at least one scan somewhere that’s proof it entered the Royal Mail network so effectively counts as proof of postage.
