Unlabelled Package

Post by polmarfi »

Hi,

I foolishly deposited a parcel at the local Post Office (along with about 6 other parcels) and forgot to put the Tracked Signature Sticker on it. So it went onto the Royal Mail van without details (a blank parcel).

What is the procedure for recovery of a label-less parcel? I went to the local Sorting Office (Queen Elizabeth House) and a very kind Staff Member told me that it should end up in Belfast? Is there a claims form and if so what is the link?
I have a list of the contents (LP Records and single 45 Records).
In the packaging there is an envelope containing the 45 records that does have my address on it (under all the fragile tape though.)

Many thanks for any assistance provided,

Paul

Just to be clear, there is no destination address or return address on the outside of the parcel?

Yes, that's totally correct. I labelled all the other parcels but somehow forgot this one. I deposited the parcels at the deposit area at the local WH Smith Post Office. Busy as just before Xmas. Totally at fault myself.

But I do have an itemised list of the contents plus weight, dimensions, description of package.

You need to complete a lost parcel form. That will ensure that RM can match the parcel to you when it reaches the National Returns Centre.

Many thanks for your help. There is a claim form online but of course it doesn't cover my circumstances.

Is there an online form that I can print off, physically fill in and post to Belfast?

Is there any other kind of link?

It's called a P58 but all my online links don't work - you get them from Post Offices.
